Anne has over 20 years experience of teaching and leadership in nursery, infant and primary schools in inner London. In the early 1990s, she developed and coordinated one of the first 'Early Years Units' in Tower Hamlets, in which nursery and reception age children were totally integrated. Now living in Lancaster, Anne has been a freelance educational consultant, trainer and writer for more than 10 years and a regular contributor to Nursery World and other publications. She is the author of the Nursery World series, 'Practice in Pictures' which uses images from Siren Films as starting points for reflective commentaries on good practice. She has a wide interest in all aspects of early years care and education, but her particular specialisms include attachment, equalities, bilingualism and transitions.
Current work for publication includes 'Understanding Transitions in the Early Years' (Routledge 2012) which will focus on the importance of attachment and emotional resilience in supporting transitions.
Previously an Associate Tutor at the Institute of Education (London University) Anne is now an Associate of Early Education.
