Play - The First Year

The film is based on fascinating documentary sequences with clear explanations of how different forms of early play are an essential part of child development.

We see how play is involved in all areas of development – physical, social and intellectual.

Both social and solitary play are important aspects in babies’ learning of life and intellectual skills.

We see how the babies develop their playing abilities during their first year and how the role of the adult changes to fit in with the baby's different stages of development.
