Child Observation Introduction
|
 |
 |
Our aims
The intention here is to help teach students and practitioners the skills of child observation.
These child observation training DVDs provide continuous sequences of children in real situations, and are holistic in content, showing an extensive variety of behaviour and development.
This series contains important source material with no commentary and comprehensive user notes making the material extremely versatile.
Packs
All films can be purchased separately but some have intrinsic links and are therefore available as packs. The productions in the packs compliment each other in that one gives an understanding of a particular area of child development and the other builds on this through careful observation techniques.
Available in packs:
The packs are offered at a discounted price.
User Notes (updated for 2007)
The inclusion of comprehensive user notes is , of course, a great advantage to teachers for planning but also to students.
All of the Child observation DVDs come with notes (with the exception of Child Observation No. 1, which has a narrative observation spoken over each sequence when it is repeated the second time). Each set is tailored specifically to the content of the DVD.
THE NEW EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE
These films are ideal for EYFS framework training. Leading roles in the productions are given to development, learning and play. The six areas of learning and broader principles of development in the framework are illuminated and explained both visually and in commentary.
Attachment in Practice and Life at Two are recommended resources in the new EYFS Framework.
The Child Observation Series includes links to the following EYFS principles:
• A Unique Child: 1.1, 1.3, 1.4
• Positive Relationships : 2.1, 2.3, 2.4
• Enabling Environments : 3.1, 3.2, 3.3
• Learning & Development : 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 |
