A new baby is born - a time of happiness for parents, but how will the first child cope? The arrival of a new baby can be a traumatic for the first child often resulting in sibling jealousy.
The film chronicles the relationships between sisters and brothers from two families, showing some of the problems and looking at ways to make things easier.
The older children are 2.5 and 3 years old when their siblings arrive and the families are filmed for the next 12 months.
Interspersed with the documentary footage are interviews with the two older children, as they talk about their ambivalent feelings towards their siblings.
“ I hate him sometimes and I like him sometimes and I love him sometimes.”
It’s down to earth and practical, sometimes amusing, but always a valuable insight into relationships.
